Corporal Richard Anthony Rivera Jr., 20, of Ventura, California, was a U.S. Marine with the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, based in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He died in Helmand province, Afghanistan, on August 10, 2012.

Maj. Walter David Gray, 38, of Conyers, Georgia, was a U.S. Air Force officer with the 13th Air Support Operations Squadron. He died on August 8, 2012, near Combat Outpost Fiaz, Afghanistan.
