Chief Warrant Officer 2 Thalia Suzanne Ramirez, 28, of San Antonio, Texas, was a U.S. Army helicopter pilot. She was killed in a helicopter crash in Pul-e Alam, Afghanistan, on September 5, 2012.

U.S. Army Specialist Kyle Robert Rookey, 23, of Oswego, New York, served with Company B, 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Carson, Colorado. He died on September 2, 2012, in Jalalabad, Afghanistan.
