Capt. Matthew Charles Hays Freeman, 29, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, was a U.S. Marine killed in action on August 7, 2009, in the Shpee Valley of Kapisa province, Afghanistan.

Lance Corporal James David Argentine, 22, of Farmingdale, New York, was a U.S. Marine killed in Farah Province, Afghanistan, on August 6, 2009.

Lance Corporal Travis Thornton Babine, 20, of San Antonio, Texas, was a U.S. Marine with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines. He was killed in hostile action in Farah Province, Afghanistan, on August 6, 2009.

Corporal Christian Armando Guzman Rivera, 21, of Homestead, Florida, was a U.S. Marine killed in Farah Province, Afghanistan, on August 6, 2009.

Sgt. Jay Michael Hoskins, 24, of Paris, Texas, was a U.S. Marine killed in hostile action in Farah province, Afghanistan, on August 6, 2009.
