Staff Sgt. Matthew John Leach, 29, of Ferndale, Michigan, was a U.S. Army soldier killed in action on June 26, 2012, in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Robert Anthony Massarelli, 32, of Hamilton, Ohio, was killed in action on June 24, 2012, in Kandahar City, Afghanistan, while serving with the 96th Transportation Company.

Lance Corporal Niall William Cotisears, a 23-year-old U.S. Marine from Arlington, Virginia, was killed in Helmand province, Afghanistan, on June 23, 2012.

Lance Cpl. Hunter Dalton Hogan, 21, of Norman, Indiana, was a U.S. Marine killed in Helmand province, Afghanistan, on June 23, 2012.

Lance Cpl. Eugene Clifton Mills III, 21, of Laurel, Maryland, was a U.S. Marine killed in Helmand province, Afghanistan, on June 22, 2012.

Active Duty, MARINE CORPS, 1ST CEB, (I MEF FWD), 1ST MAR DIV, CAMP PENDLETON, CA, LCPL Stevens, Steven Prince Ii of TALLAHASSEE, FL, 23, died in HELMAND PROVINCE, AFGHANISTAN on June 22, 2012. Cause: HOSTILE.

On June 22, 2012, the ARMY lost MAJ Voelke, Paul Clarke of MONROE, NY in MAZAR E. SHARIF, AFGHANISTAN. He was 36.

First Lieutenant Ryan Davis Rawl, 30, of Lexington, South Carolina, was killed in a hostile incident in Khowst City, Afghanistan, on June 20, 2012, while serving with the South Carolina Army National Guard.
