U.S. Army Specialist Douglas Jay Jeffries Jr., 20, of Springville, California, was killed in a hostile incident in Kandahar, Afghanistan, on September 8, 2011.

U.S. Navy Reserve Commander James Kevin Crawford, 50, of Hamburg, New York, died on September 7, 2011, in Manama, Bahrain, while serving during Operation New Dawn.

U.S. Army Specialist Christophe J. Marquis, 40, of Tampa, Florida, died on September 4, 2011, at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany from wounds sustained in Afghanistan.

Specialist Christopher John Scott, 21, of Tyrone, New York, was a U.S. Army military policeman serving with the 561st Military Police Company. He died on September 3, 2011, in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

U.S. Army Specialist Dennis James Jr., 21, of Deltona, Florida, was killed by hostile fire at Forward Operating Base Shank, Afghanistan, on August 31, 2011.

U.S. Army Specialist Kevin Roger Shumaker, 24, of Livermore, California, was assigned to the 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, based at Fort Drum, New York. He died on August 31, 2011, in

Private First Class Alberto Lustre Obod Jr., 26, of Orlando, Florida, was killed in action on August 28, 2011, in Kandahar, Afghanistan, while serving with the U.S. Army during Operation Enduring Freedom.

U.S. Army Specialist Michael Christopher Roberts, 23, of Watauga, Texas, was killed in hostile action in Kandahar City, Afghanistan, on August 27, 2011. He was assigned to the 561st Military Police Company, 716th Military Police Battalion,

U.S. Army Sergeant Devin James Daniels, 22, of Kuna, Idaho, was killed in action on August 26, 2011, in Kariz Sefid, Afghanistan.

Sgt. Colby Lee Richmond, 28, of Providence, North Carolina, served with the 546th Transportation Company, 82nd Sustainment Brigade, U.S. Army. He died on August 26, 2011, in Kariz Sefid, Afghanistan, from hostile action.

U.S. Army Specialist Jesse Wayne Dietrich, 20, of Venus, Texas, was killed in action on August 25, 2011, in Senjaray, Afghanistan.

Brandon Scott Mullins, 21, of Owensboro, Kentucky, was a U.S. Army Specialist. He died on August 25, 2011, in Bazaare, Afghanistan, from hostile enemy action.

SGT Tobin, Andrew Robert, 24, a native of JACKSONVILLE, IL, died serving in the Active Duty, ARMY, COMPANY C, 2ND BATTALION, 87TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 3RD BCT, FORT DRUM, NY, during Operation Enduring Freedom on August 24, 2011. Cause: HOSTILE.

From DUXBURY, MA, 1LT Steele, Timothy James served with the ARMY, COMPANY B, 2ND BATTALION, 87TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 3RD BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM, FORT DRUM, NY, and died on August 23, 2011 in KANDAHAR, AFGHANISTAN. He was 25. Cause: HOSTILE.

Lance Cpl. Travis Michael Nelson, 19, of Pace, Florida, was a U.S. Marine killed in Helmand province, Afghanistan, on August 18, 2011.
