Technical Sergeant Sean Mitchell Corlew, 37, of Thousand Oaks, California, was a U.S. Air Force special operations airman. He was killed in action on June 12, 2002, in a helicopter crash approximately 35 miles east of Gardez, Afghanistan.

Staff Sgt. Anissa Ann Shero, 31, of Grafton, West Virginia, served in the U.S. Air Force's 15th Special Operations Squadron. She was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 12, 2002.

Peter Paul Tycz II, a U.S. Army Sergeant First Class from Tonawanda, NY, died at 32 during Operation Enduring Freedom in Orgun, Afghanistan on June 12, 2002.

SSG Gene Arden Vance Jr, 38, from Morgantown, WV, served in the National Guard, 19th Special Forces Group, and died on May 19, 2002, in Shkin, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Katrina Renee Grady, 29, of Greenville, Mississippi, served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Port Royal. She died on April 18, 2002, in Bethesda, Maryland.

Senior Airman Jason Decastro Cunningham, 26, was a U.S. Air Force pararescueman. He was killed by enemy fire on March 5, 2002, during a combat search and rescue mission near Gardez, Afghanistan.
