Capt. Garrett Tucker Lawton, 31, of Charleston, West Virginia, was a U.S. Marine Corps officer assigned to Marine Special Operations Command. He was killed in action on August 4, 2008, in Afghanistan.

SGT Henry, Gary Michael, 34, a native of INDIANAPOLIS, IN, died serving in the National Guard, ARMY, 38TH MILITARY POLICE COMPANY, 95TH MP BATTALION, 18TH MP BRIGADE, DANVILLE, IN, during Operation Iraqi Freedom on August 4, 2008. Cause: HOSTILE.

At 21, PV2 Hutton, Timothy John of DILLON, MT was serving with the ARMY, COMPANY A, 54TH ENGINEER BATTALION, 20TH BRIGADE, WARNER BARRACKS, GERMANY, when he died in BAGHDAD, IRAQ on August 4, 2008.

SPC Menke, Jonathan D, age 22, of MADISON, IN ? National Guard, ARMY, 38TH MILITARY POLICE COMPANY, 95TH MP BATTALION, 18TH MP BRIGADE, DANVILLE, IN, ? died on August 4, 2008 in BAGHDAD, IRAQ. Cause: HOSTILE.

Sgt. Jaime Gonzalez Jr., 40, of Austin, Texas, was a member of the Texas Army National Guard's 436th Chemical Company. He was killed in a hostile incident in Kabul, Afghanistan, on August 3, 2008.

At 18, SPC Schmidt, Ronald Andrew of NEWTON, KS was serving with the ARMY, BATTERY C, 1ST BATTALION, 161ST FIELD ARTILLERY, KINGMAN, KS, when he died in BALAD, IRAQ on August 3, 2008.

U.S. Army Specialist William Joseph Mulvihill, 20, of Leavenworth, Kansas, was killed in a hostile incident in Asadabad, Afghanistan, on August 2, 2008.
