Lt. Col. Benjamin James Palmer, 43, of Modesto, California, was a U.S. Marine killed in a hostile incident at Camp Dwyer, Afghanistan, on May 12, 2011.

U.S. Army First Lieutenant Demetrius Montaz Frison, 26, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was killed in hostile action on May 10, 2011, in Chergataw, Afghanistan.

U.S. Army Sergeant Ken King Hermogino, 30, of Edwards AFB, California, was killed in action on May 9, 2011, in Herat, Afghanistan, while serving with Troop A, 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment.

U.S. Army Specialist Riley Sheridan Spaulding, 21, of Sheridan, Texas, was killed in action on May 4, 2011, in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He was assigned to Company C, 2nd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, based in Vilseck, Germany.

Lance Corporal Ronald Douglas Freeman, a 25-year-old U.S. Marine from Plant City, Florida, died on April 28, 2011, in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Staff Sergeant Matthew Daniel Hermanson, 22, of Appleton, Wisconsin, was killed by hostile fire on April 28, 2011, at Forward Operating Base Shank in Logar Province, Afghanistan.

U.S. Army Specialist Andrew Evan Lara, 25, of Albany, Oregon, died on April 27, 2011, in Almahawil, Iraq, while serving with the Oregon National Guard during Operation New Dawn.

Maj. Philip Dave Ambard, 44, of Edmonds, Washington, was an active-duty U.S. Air Force officer serving with the 460th Space Communication Squadron. He was killed in a hostile incident in Kabul, Afghanistan, on April 27, 2011.
