U.S. Army Sergeant Steven L. Talamantez, 34, of Laredo, Texas, was killed in a hostile incident in Al Amarah, Iraq, on July 10, 2011.

Lance Cpl. Norberto Mendez Hernandez, 22, of Logan, Utah, was a U.S. Marine killed in Helmand province, Afghanistan, on July 10, 2011.

U.S. Army Specialist Rafael Angel Nieves Jr., 22, of Albany, New York, was killed in a hostile incident at Forward Operating Base Orgun-E in Afghanistan on July 10, 2011.

Sergeant First Class Terryl Lynn Pasker, 39, of Lisbon, Iowa, was a U.S. Army soldier killed in a hostile incident in Tabanan, Panjshayr Province, Afghanistan, on July 9, 2011.

Sgt. Christopher Paul Soderlund, 23, of Pineville, Louisiana, was a U.S. Army infantryman serving with Company B, 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Polk.

U.S. Army Sergeant Nathan Ryan Beyers, 24, of Littleton, Colorado, died on July 7, 2011, in Baghdad, Iraq, during Operation New Dawn.

Private First Class Nicholas Wayne Newby, 20, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, was a soldier with the Idaho Army National Guard. He died in Baghdad, Iraq, on July 7, 2011, from hostile action.

U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Thomas Joseph Dodds Dudley, 29, of Tega Cay, South Carolina, was killed in action on July 7, 2011, in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Staff Sergeant Nicanor Iv Amper, 36, of San Jose, California, was killed on July 5, 2011, in Shemal District, Afghanistan, while serving with the U.S. Army.
