U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Michael Chance Murphrey, 25, of Snyder, Texas, died on September 6, 2009, at Forward Operating Base Sharnana, Afghanistan, from hostile action.

Sgt. Youvert Loney, 28, of Pohnpei, was a U.S. Army infantryman serving with Company C, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment. He was killed in a hostile incident in Asadabad, Afghanistan, on September 5, 2009.
