John Weston Faas, 31, was a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was killed in Wardak Province, Afghanistan, on August 6, 2011, while serving with the Naval Special Warfare Development Group.

Staff Sgt. Patrick Douglas Hamburger, 30, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was a U.S. Army National Guard soldier killed on August 6, 2011, at Combat Outpost Sayed Abad, Afghanistan.

Staff Sgt. Andrew William Harvell, 26, of Long Beach, California, was a U.S. Air Force combat controller assigned to the 24th Special Tactics Squadron. He was killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan's Tangi Valley on August 6, 2011.
