U.S. Army Specialist Jonathon Luke Luscher, 20, of Scranton, Pennsylvania, was killed in action on August 17, 2008, at Forward Operating Base Mehtar Lam, Afghanistan.

LCPL Stottlemyer, Travis Martin, 20, a native of HATFIELD, PA, died serving in the Active Duty, MARINE CORPS, 3D FAST CO, MCSF, NORFOLK, VA, during Operation Iraqi Freedom on August 17, 2008.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Kristopher Dan Rodgers, 29, of Sturgis, Michigan, was killed in action on August 16, 2008, in the Korengal Valley, Afghanistan, while serving with the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment.

U.S. Army First Lieutenant Donald Clayton Carwile, 29, of Oxford, Mississippi, was killed in a hostile incident on August 15, 2008, in Wardack, Afghanistan.

U.S. Army Private First Class Paul Edward Conlon Jr., 21, of Somerville, Massachusetts, was killed in action on August 15, 2008, in Wardack, Afghanistan.

Lance Cpl. Juan Lopez-Castaneda, 19, of Mesa, Arizona, was a U.S. Marine killed in Sangin, Afghanistan, on August 14, 2008, during Operation Enduring Freedom.
