Staff Sgt. Jason Evan Burkholder, 27, of Elida, Ohio, was a U.S. Army soldier who died in Helmand province, Afghanistan, on February 8, 2009.

First Lieutenant Jared William Southworth, 26, of Oakland, Illinois, was a U.S. Army National Guard officer serving with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 130th Infantry Regiment. He died on February 8, 2009, in Helmand

Lance Cpl. Kevin Thomas Preach, 21, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, was a U.S. Marine killed in a hostile incident on February 7, 2009. He died in San Antonio, Texas, while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom.
