Their Story
Michael Paul Bridges, a Private Second Class in the United States Army, was serving with Company B, 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. Born in Placentia, California, Bridges enlisted with the intention of contributing to his country's efforts overseas.
Operation Iraqi Freedom, which began in March 2003, marked a significant chapter in global military history. The mission, initially launched to disarm Iraq of alleged weapons of mass destruction, extended into a prolonged conflict.
