Joshua Thomas Brazee, 25, from Sand Creek, MI, served with the U.S. Army's 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, died in Mosul, Iraq, on May 23, 2005.
Their Story
Joshua Thomas Brazee was born and raised in Sand Creek, Michigan, and enlisted in the United States Army, dedicating his service to his country. He was assigned to the Howitzer Battery, 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado.
Brazee's unit was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, a conflict initiated on March 19, 2003. The operation aimed to disarm Iraq, to end Saddam Hussein's support for terrorism, and to free the Iraqi people.
On May 23, 2005, while serving in Mosul, Iraq, Specialist Brazee's life was tragically cut short in the line of duty. His death was officially recorded in the Defense Casualty Analysis System on the same day.
