Artimus Demone Brassfield was a Specialist in the United States Army, serving with Company B, 1st Battalion, 66th Armor, based at Fort Hood, Texas. Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, Brassfield was among the many young Americans deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
On October 24, 2003, Brassfield lost his life in Samaria, Iraq. His death was classified as hostile, a term used by the military to indicate that it occurred as a result of enemy action. Brassfield's passing was recorded in the Defense Casualty Analysis System on the same day.
