Jeffrey Allen Boskovitch, a corporal in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, was born in Cuyahoga, Ohio. He was part of Headquarters and Service Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd Marine Division, 4th Marine Division, based in Brook Park, Ohio.
Cpl. Boskovitch was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, a military campaign initiated in March 2003 aimed at overthrowing the government of Saddam Hussein. The operation expanded as insurgent activity increased, leading to prolonged involvement by coalition forces.
On August 2, 2005, Cpl. Boskovitch lost his life in Hadithah, a city in Iraq's Al Anbar Province. His death was classified as a result of hostile action, a term used to describe fatalities caused by enemy engagement.
