Boone, Clarence Ernest
Clarence Ernest Boone, an American Chief Warrant Officer 5, served with the 4th Infantry Division and died in Kuwait City on December 2, 2003, during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Their Story
Clarence Ernest Boone was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and served as a Chief Warrant Officer 5 in the United States Army. At the age of 50, he was a member of the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort Hood, Texas.
Boone was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, which commenced in March 2003. The operation aimed to dismantle the regime of Saddam Hussein, but soon transitioned into a complex occupation and counterinsurgency effort.
On December 2, 2003, Boone was killed in action in Kuwait City, Kuwait. His death occurred during a difficult period as Coalition forces faced growing insurgent attacks.
Boone's passing was recorded by the Army, marking a somber moment in the early phase of the conflict, which continued until its conclusion in August 2010.
