Sergeant First Class Craig Allen Boling was an American soldier from Elkhart, Indiana, who served with Company C, 1st Battalion, 152nd Infantry. As part of the Indiana Army National Guard, Boling's service was an integral component of the U.S. military's efforts in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Operation Iraqi Freedom began in March 2003 as a U.S.-led coalition operation aimed at toppling the regime in Iraq. Boling's unit was mobilized as part of this broader effort, and he was stationed at Camp Wolf in Kuwait when he lost his life.
