Henry William Bogrette, an American Marine from Richville, NY, was killed on March 22, 2007, near Camp Fallujah, Iraq, during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Their Story
Henry William Bogrette, a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, served his country with dedication. Stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, he was a part of the Combat Logistics Regiment 27, Combat Logistics Battalion 6, 2nd Marine Logistics Group Forward, II Marine Expeditionary Force Forward.
Born and raised in Richville, New York, Bogrette joined the Marines with a strong sense of duty. His commitment took him to Iraq, where he participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, a conflict that began in March 2003.
On March 22, 2007, Bogrette was killed in hostile action near Camp Fallujah, a significant area of operations during the conflict. His death was confirmed by the Department of Defense.
Bogrette's service coincided with one of the deadliest periods of the war, marked by heightened sectarian violence following the 2006 bombing of the al-Askari Mosque.
His passing at the age of 21 was a profound loss to his family and community, who remember him for his valor and commitment.
