Their Story

Bradley Scott Beard was a Specialist in the United States Army, hailing from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Assigned to Service Battery, 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery, 2nd Infantry Division, he served his country during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Operation Iraqi Freedom commenced in March 2003, with the aim of toppling Saddam Hussein's regime. Bradley deployed to Iraq as part of the U.S. military's efforts to stabilize the region post-invasion. The conflict saw coalition forces encountering unexpected resistance, evolving into a complex insurgency.

On October 14, 2004, in Baghdad, Iraq, Bradley was killed in action due to hostile circumstances. His death marked a profound loss for his fellow soldiers, family, and community. His service and sacrifice are remembered with respect and solemnity.
