PFC Paul Jr Balint was a young soldier from Willow Park, Texas, who served in the United States Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry, he was stationed at Ledward Barracks in Germany before his deployment to Iraq.

Operation Iraqi Freedom began on March 19, 2003, with the United States-led invasion aimed at toppling the regime of Saddam Hussein. PFC Balint's tour in Iraq involved service in Ar Ramadi, a city that witnessed significant conflict during the war.

On December 15, 2006, at the age of 22, PFC Balint lost his life due to hostile action in Ar Ramadi. His death was recorded in the Defense Casualty Analysis System, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by military personnel in the region at the time.

PFC Balint's service and sacrifice are remembered alongside many others who served during the extended conflict. Operation Iraqi Freedom officially concluded on August 31, 2010, although the impacts of the war continue to be felt both in the region and among veterans and their families.
