Their Story
Brian Keith Baker, a native of West Seneca, New York, joined the U.S. Army and served with Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division. His unit was based out of Fort Drum, New York.
Baker was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, a military operation initiated in March 2003 aimed at toppling the regime in Iraq. The conflict was marked by intense combat operations and a challenging occupation phase.
On November 7, 2004, at the age of 27, SPC Baker lost his life in Baghdad, Iraq. His death was classified as hostile, a term used to denote casualties inflicted by enemy forces.
