Henry Albert Bacon, a Senior Field Commander in the U.S. Army, was born and raised in Wagram, North Carolina. As a dedicated serviceman, he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, with the HHT, 1st Squadron, 10th U.S. Cavalry, part of the 4th Infantry Division.
Bacon was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, a conflict initiated on March 19, 2003, by a U.S.-led coalition. The operation aimed to eliminate weapons of mass destruction and end Saddam Hussein's regime.
On February 20, 2004, Bacon lost his life in Ad Dujayl, Iraq, during active combat operations. His death was confirmed by the Department of Defense, marking a somber moment for his unit and family.
