Their Story
James Joseph Arellano, a Private First Class in the United States Army, was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming. At just 19 years old, he was serving with Company B, 1st Battalion, 67th Armor, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort Hood, Texas.
PFC Arellano was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, a conflict that began with the US-led invasion on March 19, 2003. The operation aimed to dismantle weapons of mass destruction and end Saddam Hussein's regime.
