Their Story
Kurtis Dean Kama Arcala served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army, assigned to Company C, 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, Task Force Liberty based out of Fort Stewart, Georgia. His commitment to his duties took him to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, a military campaign that began in March 2003.
On September 11, 2005, at the age of 22, Sgt. Arcala lost his life in Balad, Iraq, due to hostile actions. His passing is recorded in the Defense Casualty Analysis System, marking a somber day for his family, comrades, and country.
