Conrad Alvarez, born in Big Spring, Texas, served as a Sergeant in the United States Army. He was a member of Company A, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Alvarez was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, a conflict initiated by the United States and its allies on March 19, 2003. The operation aimed to dismantle the Iraqi regime and eliminate alleged weapons of mass destruction, although such weapons were never found.

On February 20, 2008, while serving in Baghdad, Iraq, Sergeant Alvarez lost his life in an incident classified by the military as hostile. He was 22 years old at the time of his passing.
