PFC Christopher Michael Alcozer, an American soldier from Elmhurst, IL, was killed in action in Mosul, Iraq on November 19, 2005, during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Their Story

Private First Class Christopher Michael Alcozer served in the United States Army as a part of Company C, 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, Task Force Freedom, based at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Born and raised in Elmhurst, Illinois, Alcozer enlisted in the military with the commitment to serve his country during a time of ongoing conflict.

On November 19, 2005, PFC Alcozer was killed in Mosul, Iraq, a city that had seen significant unrest and violence during the conflict. He was part of the efforts under Operation Iraqi Freedom, which aimed to establish a stable and democratic Iraq.

Alcozer was 21 years old at the time of his death, making him one of the 4,418 American service members who lost their lives in this operation. His service and sacrifice are remembered by his family, friends, and fellow soldiers.

The period from 2005 to 2007 marked some of the deadliest years of Operation Iraqi Freedom, with increasing sectarian violence and insurgent activities. Mosul was a focal point of many military operations during this time.
