Aguilar, Andres Jr
Cpl. Andres Aguilar Jr, a 21-year-old Marine from Victoria, TX, was killed in action on April 2, 2006, during Operation Iraqi Freedom in ASR Uranium, Iraq.
Their Story
Corporal Andres Aguilar Jr served in the United States Marine Corps as part of the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, Regimental Combat Team 7, I Marine Expeditionary Force Forward, 3rd Marine Division. Based at Marine Corps Base Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, Aguilar was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
On April 2, 2006, Aguilar was killed in action in ASR Uranium, Iraq. His death occurred during a period marked by intense conflict, as the years 2005 to 2007 were among the deadliest for American forces in Iraq.
Aguilar was one of 4,418 American service members who lost their lives in Operation Iraqi Freedom, a conflict that began in March 2003 and concluded in August 2010. His passing is a solemn reminder of the human cost of war.
Born and raised in Victoria, Texas, Aguilar was remembered by his community for his dedication and service. His sacrifice is honored alongside fellow service members who served in one of the most challenging periods of the Iraq War.
