Their Story
Christopher Scott Adlesperger was a young Marine whose life ended during a critical period of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he joined the United States Marine Corps with a sense of duty and commitment. He served as a Lance Corporal in K Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, Regimental Combat Team 1, 1st Marine Division, based at Camp Pendleton, California.
During the second year of the conflict, Adlesperger was deployed to Iraq, where he participated in operations aimed at stabilizing the region. Fallujah, a city that saw intense battles during this period, became a focal point of the U.S. military efforts to eliminate insurgent strongholds. It was here, on December 9, 2004, that Adlesperger's life was tragically cut short.
The Department of Defense confirmed that his death was due to hostile actions. His loss was deeply felt by his family and fellow Marines, who remembered him for his bravery and dedication to his mission.
