U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Nicholas Aaron Madrazo, 25, of Bothell, Washington, was killed in a hostile incident in Bagram, Afghanistan, on September 9, 2008.

Capt. Jesse Melton III, 29, of Randallstown, Maryland, was a U.S. Marine killed in a roadside bomb attack in the Afghanya Valley, Afghanistan, on September 9, 2008.

Eichmann Antonio Strickland, a 23-year-old Navy PO3 from Arlington, WA, died in Afghanya Valley, Afghanistan on September 9, 2008 during Operation Enduring Freedom.

U.S. Army Private First Class Michael Richard Dinterman, 18, of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, was killed in action on September 6, 2008, at Observation Post Restrepo in the Korengal Valley, Afghanistan.

U.S. Army Specialist Marques Irving Knight, 24, of San Juan Capistrano, California, was killed in the Korengal Valley, Afghanistan, on September 6, 2008.

At 22, PV2 Thibeault, Jordan Peter Poul of SOUTH JORDAN, UT was serving with the ARMY, HHC, 1ST BATTALION, 6TH INFANTRY, 2 BCT, SMITH BARRACKS, GERMANY, when he died in FOB HAMMER, IRAQ on September 5, 2008.

Vincent Cortez Jr, 22, from St. Louis, MO, served as PV2 in the Army's 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry, 3 BCT, and died in combat on September 4, 2008, in Afghanistan.

Petty Officer First Class Joshua Thomas Harris, 36, of Lexington, North Carolina, was a U.S. Navy sailor serving with Tactical Development and Evaluation Squadron Two. He was killed in action in Bagram, Afghanistan, on August 31, 2008.
