Overview

In traditional Yoruba belief, it refers to a protective remedy, charm, or spiritual safeguard believed to repel, neutralize, or render ineffective harmful medicines, curses, enchantments, or other forms of malevolent spiritual influence directed at a person. The practice is associated with protection against evil intentions and harmful spiritual influences.

Ingredients & Components

  • Menumo bone (a small pieces of bone from the dead skull/head region)
  • One whole alligator pepper (Odidi Atare)

Preparation Method

The Menumo bone (A dead bone around the skull region) and one whole alligator pepper are burnt into a fine paste inside a traditional clay pot together. An incision is made around the leg with a new razor blade, one for each user, and the fine burnt paste is then applied around the incisions made around the leg

According to traditional belief, if harmful medicine, curses, or malevolent spiritual workings are placed on land or anywhere and the person that did this protection charm matched on it, they wont be affected by this evil charm placed for them to match on.
