Patrick Xavier Jr, a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, was born in Pembroke Pines, Florida. He served with the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 7, 1st Marine Division (Forward), I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), under the parent command of the 2nd Marine Division.
Xavier deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, a military campaign initiated by the United States in October 2001. The operation aimed to dismantle terrorist organizations and eliminate their safe havens in Afghanistan.
On May 18, 2010, LCPL Xavier was killed during combat operations in Helmand Province, a region that saw significant military engagements. His death was classified as a result of hostile action.
