Their Story
Christopher Shane Wright served as a Specialist in Company C, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment of the United States Army, based at Hunter Army Airfield, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Born in Tollesboro, Kentucky, Wright was deployed to several locations, including Afghanistan, during his military service.
On August 19, 2010, Specialist Wright lost his life in Pech, Konar, Afghanistan, during Operation Enduring Freedom, a conflict initiated in response to the September 11 attacks. The operation, which began on October 7, 2001, aimed to dismantle al-Qaeda and remove the Taliban from power.
