Their Story
Corporal Travis Martin Woods served with the United States Marine Corps as part of I Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, based in Camp Pendleton, California. On September 9, 2007, Woods was killed in a hostile incident in Bastion Roe2, Afghanistan.
Woods was part of Operation Enduring Freedom, the U.S.-led operation initiated in October 2001 in response to the September 11 attacks, aimed at dismantling the Taliban and disrupting terrorist activities in Afghanistan.
