Their Story
CPL Adam Franklin Wolff was a dedicated Marine from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. At 25, he was stationed with the 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. His service took him to Afghanistan, where he was involved in Operation Enduring Freedom, a conflict that commenced in October 2001.
Operation Enduring Freedom aimed to dismantle terrorist networks and provide stability in the region. Wolff's deployment to Helmand Province placed him in one of the most challenging areas for coalition forces, as the province was a focal point in the conflict.
On June 20, 2014, CPL Wolff lost his life during a hostile encounter. His death marked a poignant moment in the protracted conflict that claimed the lives of 2,356 American service members.
