Wade Daniel Wilson, a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, was born and raised in Normangee, Texas. Sgt. Wilson was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), stationed at Camp Pendleton, California.
Operation Enduring Freedom, initiated in October 2001, was the United States' response to the September 11 attacks. It aimed at dismantling terrorist organizations in Afghanistan and resulted in a protracted conflict that lasted until December 2014.
