Their Story
Justin James Wilkens served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, a member of the 34th Special Operations Squadron based at Hurlburt Field, Florida. Born and raised in Bend, Oregon, Wilkens was part of the elite unit known for its specialized and demanding missions.
Wilkens had been deployed to various regions, including Afghanistan, the Philippines, and the Horn of Africa, as part of the wider efforts under Operation Enduring Freedom. This operation was launched in response to the attacks on September 11, 2001, and aimed to dismantle terrorist networks.
