Their Story
Andrew Tarrant Weathers, known for his service and dedication, was a soldier in the United States Army. Born and raised in DeRidder, Louisiana, Weathers dedicated his life to military service, eventually joining the Special Forces.
He served with distinction in Company B, 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. His military career took him to regions of conflict, including Afghanistan, the Philippines, and the Horn of Africa, where he was involved in various operations.
During his deployment as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, Weathers was critically injured in a hostile encounter. Despite receiving medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany on September 30, 2014.
Weathers was one of 2,356 American service members who lost their lives in Operation Enduring Freedom, a conflict initiated in October 2001 and concluding in December 2014. His commitment and bravery remain honored by those who knew him and served alongside him.
