Albert Dono Ware, a Sergeant in the United States Army, was born in Chicago, Illinois. He served with distinction in Company F, 782nd Combat Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Ware was deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, the military operation launched in response to the events of September 11, 2001.
On December 18, 2009, Sgt. Ware was killed in Arghandab, a district in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. His death was the result of hostile action. At the age of 27, Ware was among the 2,356 American service members who lost their lives during the course of Operation Enduring Freedom.
