Their Story
SGT Tristan Mykal Wade was a dedicated member of the United States Army, hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana. He served with the 573rd Clearance Company, 2nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, based at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.
Tristan was deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, a mission that began in October 2001 with the aim of dismantling terrorist groups and establishing security. By 2013, the operation was nearing its conclusion, with international forces transitioning responsibilities to Afghan forces.
On March 22, 2013, in the Qarah Bagh district of Ghazni province, Tristan lost his life due to hostile actions. His death came during a period of significant military activity as international forces sought to stabilize the region.
Tristan's sacrifice is remembered with solemn respect and recognition of the broader human costs of conflict. His service and commitment to his country are honored.
