Their Story

Neil Isaac Turner, a Private First Class in the United States Army, was serving with Company B, 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team based out of Fort Bliss, Texas. Born in Tacoma, Washington, Turner enlisted in the Army, driven by a sense of duty and service.

PFC Turner was deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, a military operation initiated in response to the events of September 11, 2001. The operation aimed to dismantle terrorist networks and establish peace in the region.

On January 11, 2012, PFC Turner was killed in action at Combat Outpost Kherwar in Afghanistan. His untimely death at the age of 21 occurred during a period of intense conflict, reflecting the high risk faced by those serving in the region.
