Their Story
Joshua Adam Throckmorton was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan. He chose a path of service, enlisting in the United States Army where he was assigned to the 527th Military Police Company, part of the 709th MP Battalion, under the 18th MP Brigade.
During his military career, he was stationed in Hohenfels, Germany, as part of the U.S. Army Garrison. This role required dedication and commitment, both of which he demonstrated throughout his service.
Throckmorton was deployed as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, a military campaign initiated in response to the events of September 11, 2001. His deployment took him to Afghanistan, where he was tasked with maintaining security and stability in a region marked by conflict.
On July 5, 2011, Staff Sergeant Throckmorton lost his life on Route Virginia, Afghanistan. His death was classified as a result of hostile action. He was 28 years old.
