Brian Tabada was a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, serving in the United States Army. He held the rank of Specialist and was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

On February 27, 2011, during his deployment to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, Tabada was killed in the Darah-ye District. His death occurred under hostile circumstances, a stark reminder of the perils faced by military personnel in conflict zones.
