Their Story
Christopher Glenn Stark was born in Monett, Missouri, and served as a Specialist in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the 705th Ordnance Company (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), part of the 63rd Ordnance Battalion, based at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
Stark was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. This mission, initiated in October 2001, was part of a broader international effort against terrorism.
On February 28, 2011, Stark lost his life in Tangi, Afghanistan. His duties involved neutralizing explosive threats, a task fraught with significant risk and requiring immense courage.
His death was classified as a result of hostile action, a stark reminder of the dangerous environment faced by service members in conflict zones.
