Michael Keith Spivey was born in the United States and hailed from Fayetteville, North Carolina. At the age of 21, he served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist with F Company, 159th Aviation Regiment, Task Force Wings, Combined Joint Task Force 76, part of the 12th Aviation Brigade based in Giebelstadt, Germany.
