Santos, Delfin Montemayor Jr

Sergeant Delfin Montemayor Jr. was a cavalry scout serving with the U.S. Army's 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, part of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team from Fort Stewart, Georgia. His unit was deployed to Kandahar province in southern Afghanistan, a region that remained a focal point of insurgent activity during the latter stages of Operation Enduring Freedom.

According to the Department of Defense, Santos died on April 6, 2013, from wounds sustained during a hostile incident.
