Wilbel Alexander Robles Santa was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico, and entered the U.S. Army. He served as a specialist with Troop A, 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, part of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team from Fort Stewart, Georgia. His unit deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, the U.S.-led military campaign that began in October 2001.
