Titus Roderick Reynolds was a 23-year-old from Columbus, Ohio, who served as a sergeant in the United States Army. He was assigned to Bravo Company, 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment.
On September 24, 2009, Sergeant Reynolds was killed by enemy small-arms fire during a dismounted patrol in the village of Omar Zai, in Afghanistan's Paktiya province. The patrol was part of a larger operation in the volatile region near the Pakistani border.
His death occurred during Operation Enduring Freedom, the U.S.-led military campaign in Afghanistan that began in October 2001. The conflict was characterized by counterinsurgency operations against Taliban and Al-Qaeda forces, with intense fighting in eastern provinces like Paktiya.
According to the Department of Defense, Reynolds was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, and Meritorious Service Medal. He was survived by his parents and siblings.
