Olivas, Nicholas Henry
Corporal Nicholas Henry Olivas, 20, of Fairfield, Ohio, was a U.S. Army cavalry scout. He was killed in hostile action on May 30, 2012, in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Nicholas Henry Olivas was a 20-year-old soldier from Fairfield, Ohio. He served as a cavalry scout with Troop C, 4th Battalion, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, part of the 82nd Airborne Division based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
On May 30, 2012, Corporal Olivas died in Kandahar province, Afghanistan. According to the Department of Defense, his death was the result of hostile action. Specific details of the engagement were not released in initial casualty reports.
Olivas died during Operation Enduring Freedom, the U.S.-led military campaign in Afghanistan that began in October 2001.
